I'm back!  My computer is fixed!  And I am trying to learn to use the new software.  I went on a trip to Seattle area to visit my Mom and Sister and her family.  I had a wonderful time!!   I have over 1200 photos to go through since my computer went crazy!  So I will be downloading new deviations.  Hard to decide where to start...so I will just jump in and start.  I am trying to go through all of your deviations (over 5500 of them) and comments and journals (almost 1400 of those).  So please be patient with me.

Wrote a journal entry that I thought said things that sometimes need to be said.  This is what she had to say:

I have been taking pictures for over 35 years. I have been taking photos for 7 years. In those years there have been many mistakes and many lessons learned.I am not the best, I am not perfect. I only LOVE to take photos. I have editing software, I know how to use it. I do NOT submit a photo unless it is EXACTLY how I want it to be. There are no MISTAKES, there is nothing that I want to edit out or I want to change. I spend hours on these photos. They are not perfect, but they are EXACTLY how I intend them to be. They are NOT a work in progress. I LOVE them, they are complete. It may not be how you LOVE it, but it is how I LOVE IT. I did not accidently submit over 2,500 photos. I went out and captured each and every one of them. I came home, edited and submitted each and everyone of them. It is my passion,my desire,my heart, that is a part of each and every one of these photos. I am not just sitting here uploading at random. There is a method to my madness! As I write this I wonder...does anyone...just submit a photo without editing it, without making sure it is exactly what they want to submit. No I do not think so. I would never suggest that someone alter their photos in any way...I believe they are exactly the way they intend them to be. No I will have to stick with the old saying 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'.

I HAVE A NEW CAMERA!! My sweat boyfriend bought me a gift!

It is a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS.  Now I just have to learn to take advantage of all of its features.    We went through the Tahoe National Forrest and down Highway 70 through the Sierra Valley (a high altitude desert).  It was a wonderful trip!  And a VERY WONDERFUL GIFT!   I will be sharing some of my photos with you.

I am going to start selling my work here on DA.   I am starting with the flowers, but if anyone is interesting in purchasing ANYTHING as a print, mouse pad, magnet, etc. just let me know what it is you would like to have and I will make it available.  I will slowly make some of my most popular deviations available, but will be glad to hear from you about something you would like.   Hope some of you will be interested!  

I have been giving some thought to making a calendar, post card, or greating cards.  If I did this, what subject matter do you think I should try

There is a virus going around. It is the (Microsoft) 2009 Security Update Trojan and I have it! Using my boyfriends' computer today and won't have mine fixed for a week or so. Watch out for it, but I don't know what you can do to prevent it

OK!! It seems they are Cedar Waxwings and was the first one to tell me! Thank you soo much Gloria! I don't remember ever seeing them before, but they sure are lovely. Thank you all for answering me so quickly!

Very excited!


OK I POSTED 24 DEVIATIONS TODAY FROM MY VISIT TO THE SACRAMENTO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE. THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE THE BALD EAGLE PHOTOS I POSTED LAST NIGHT. I'M NOT DONE, BUT I'M BURNT OUT! HOPE YOU ENJOY.

We went back to the BEST PLACE EVER!    We went to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge! I am providing you with a link to their site for you to read more about the Refuge.  [link]


For thousands of years the Sacramento Valley has provided a winter haven for ducks, geese and swans.  Waterfowl migrate here by the millions from as far away as the Arctic regions of Alaska, Canada, and Siberia.  The habitats of the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex are islands in a sea of agriculture in the Sacramento Valley of California.  This valley represents the singlemost important wintering area for waterfowl along the Pacific Flyway.  

I took a large number of photos and will be posting them for you to see.  I have photos of several kinds of geese, ducks, herons, egrets, black necked stilt, pheasant,  hawks, American Coot, Black-tailed deek, Black-tailed Jack Rabbit, a racoon, and would you believe a BALD EAGLE!!!!  



I will be posting them as soon as I can sort threw them all and make decisions as to what photos are the best to use.  I do hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed taking them. I have to start by posting my photos of the Bald Eagle we saw as this is very rare to get so close to one in this area.
